Homework: 

**Parents:  If you are experiencing problems with math homework, please visit the website www.ixl.com for guidance based on the standard being taught in the lesson (you can find this information at the top of the daily  homework sheet). 
 

The Parkland School District recommends that first grade students should spend 20 minutes on their assigned homework. The assignments will reinforce what was taught in class.  Help your child set up a consistent, organized place to do homework.  You may assist your child with his/her work, but please do not do it for them.  Please contact me if your child is consistently unable to do the work alone.

 

Your child's "take home folder" will include a homework log which will be completed each day in class.  Please check this folder daily and sign the paper in the indicated spot once your child has completed his/her homework.

 

Reading:    Your child should read for at least 10 minutes nightly.

Math:          Please complete both sides of the math paper.

 

All assignments are due the following school day.  Your child will have one day to make up any incomplete work.  After that he/she will have to stay in for recess on the following day to make up work.  Please write a note if your child was unable to complete assignments due to family emergencies, illness, lost/forgotten papers.
